PEIANC Camps on School PD Days

For Kindergarten to Grade 6 Students

01/09/2019

PEI Association for Newcomers to Canada offers PD Day camps to students from Kindergarten to Grade 6 from refugee and low-income families. Camps are free for participants. Space is limited and registration is needed.

In PEI there are several PD (Professional Development) days for teachers throughout the school year. There is no school for students on those days. The camps organized by the PEIANC Youth Settlement Services (YSS) offer children from refugee and low-income families a safe place to spend the day while participating in fun activities, which include games, crafts, outdoor playtime, guest speakers, local visits, and seasonal themes.

Things to bring to the camp

  • Cold lunch (there is no microwave)
  • Snack
  • Water bottle
  • Warm clothes for outdoors

All camps will take place at Trinity United Church Community Hall, 220 Richmond Street in Charlottetown, and run from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Registration

There are 35 spots available in each camp.

Registration is possible by phone only. Please call the PEIANC office on the indicated registration date after 8:30 am, at 902‑628‑6009 (ask for Youth Settlement Services).

Please do not leave messages - the interest for this camp is great and we will not be able to register your child unless you speak to a youth settlement services worker.
