Immigrant & Refugee Services Association PEI is creating a pool of qualified applicants to fill current and potential future available positions. We are accepting applications for current and/or potential future full-time and part-time positions.

The positions might be short-term or long-term and might be on any of the following IRSA teams:

  • Newcomer Settlement Services (assists immigrants in settling and integrating into Canadian society)
  • Youth Settlement Services (supports school-aged youth and their families to help them adjust to their new communities; offers programs for youth and support for parents)
  • Employment Assistance Services (supports newcomers in their job search and achieving their career goals in PEI through one-on-one counselling and group-based facilitation)
  • Community Engagement (connects newcomers with established Canadians through various programs through one-on-one matches with volunteers, and activities and information sessions; educates and engages the public regarding newcomers and cultural inclusion)
  • Administration

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must have:

  • Excellent interpersonal communication (oral/written) skills in the English language
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Computer proficiency
  • Ability to work in a team and demonstrated ability to work well under pressure with minimum supervision
  • Post-secondary degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience working with immigrants and/or in other cross-cultural circumstances

Other Qualifications

Other qualifications that would be an asset for certain positions:

  • Knowledge of other languages
  • Experience in program, event or project management
  • Experience in workshop development, facilitation skills and program development skills
  • Experience working with clients in crisis, or working in trauma-informed care
  • Experience in case management
  • Experience working with interpreters

Employment Details

Location: Charlottetown
Hours: 37.5/week for full-time positions
Starting wage or salary: 22.91/hour
