DiverseCity Audition

ATTENTION musicians, dancers, and other performers: the DiverseCity Multicultural Festival organizers are holding an audition for groups or individuals who want to perform at this year's events.
If you are a performer -- a musician, dancer, or other, or you are a leader of a performing group, and your act involves or reflects a particular culture or ethnicity, you are invited to audition.
Performers who participated in past DiverseCity Festivals are encouraged to audition and, if possible, perform new material.
After the audition, those who are selected will be contacted and offered the opportunity to take part in one, two, or all three of the DiverseCity Multicultural Festivals. The schedule of performances will depend on performers' availability and the number of successful applicants.
Note that you need to register for the audition in advance (see details below).
Registration Deadline: Thursday, May 9th, 12 midnight
Audition Date and Time: Friday, May 10, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm
Audition Location: Florence Simmons Performance Hall, Holland College, 140 Weymouth Street, Charlottetown
DiverseCity Festival dates for 2019:
Charlottetown - Sunday, June 23
Montague - Sunday, July 14
Summerside - Sunday, July 21
Audition Details
- You will perform for a panel of selectors
- Please prepare two pieces for performance, a maximum of 5 minutes each
- You may only be asked to perform one piece
- The panel may choose to give your performance feedback, in a positive and respectful manner
- We will contact you if you are selected to perform at the DiverseCity Festivals
- We do not pay for auditions, but those who perform at DiverseCity are offered an honorarium
- There will be no audience at the audition, but anyone you bring along can watch, as long as space allows
